He also won two Nations’ Cups and three GPs of CSIO and in the Nations’ Cup in Dublin he was the only horse who terminated all the rides with no penalties giving to the Dutch team the win. In the same year he took part in the Team European Ride and won the bronze metal. He continued his career obtaining several international successes up to 2002, when his owner refused to sell him for a record amount to the sponsor of a famous English champion. Athletico ended his career in Italy in 2005 with the rider Roberto Turchetto, participating in the rides CSI in Cervia, Palermo and Catania. Since 2006 he has been dedicated only to breeding.
